Magic. Madness. Heaven. Sin.
All four of things are present in the new Taylor Swift video for the second single off “1989”, “Blank Space.” And we are totally obsessed.
Pretty much since her career has started she has been portrayed as a serial dater that can’t keep a man in her life. A crazed female that uses her songs to lament about the men that have wronged her. However, before “1989” dropped, Taylor has made it pretty clear that a lot of that is fabricated, and that for a serial dater she must not be doing very well because she hasn’t been on a date in over a year. She also stressed that she thinks it is important to make any jokes about yourself first, and better than anyone else can. That is where “Blank Space” and its subsequent video come in.
She croons over the infectious pop beat. She really is a nightmare dressed like a daydream in this video if we have ever seen one. It is the perfect response to the media portrayal of her and as she made very clear with “Shake It Off” it doesn’t matter what you say about her because she is having more fun than all of us.
Yeah. We are here for it.
The video features pretty much all of the stereotypical “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” and she goes completely off the deep end. Just as the media likes to say she does, without really any proof to back it up.
This track is one of our favorites off the album, and we are so happy that it is the newest single. It just makes shouting a long to it even better.
Check out the video below, now that it is officially released and out for good.
