We may speak the same languge, but our music taste can differ from time to time. Check out these current music hits in the UK that may even have the queen turning up the volume!

1. Money On My Mind by Sam Smith

Why USA is missing out: It is the current number one hit on the UK music charts and it grows on you each time you hit replay. This track combines indie vibes and electronic beats for the most pleasing of duos.

2. Trumpets by Jason Derulo

Why USA is missing out: While the land of the free is still processing the greatness of Derulo’s current hit “Talk Dirty,” the UK is so over that. His new single “Trumpets” is just as intoxicating as “Talk Dirty” which means your booty shaking will not end soon. It makes us eager for his new album to be released!

3. Girls by the 1975

Why USA is missing out: They are an indie-alternative barrel of heaven. The 1975 has slowly but surely been gaining recognition in the states with their single “Chocolate” but have yet to really make a mark on the charts. With lyrics like “They’re just girls breaking hearts. Eyes bright, uptight, just girls” it is sure to be a guy’s anthem that you can’t refuse. Give them a chance and you surely won’t be disappointed.

4. Midnight Memories by One Direction

Why the USA is missing out: You’ll be surprised at just how rock ‘n roll this title track is off of the boy’s new album. Hit play and give it a chance. I promise you will be eager to hear the rest of their album. Who doesn’t have a million midnight memories to relate this song to? Plus aren’t they just the greatest to look at? (Okay, okay I’m biased).

5. I See Fire by Ed Sheeran

Why the USA is missing out: It is new music released by the angelic-voiced Ed Sheeran. Enough said.

6. Rather Be by Clean Bandit (feat. Jess Glynne)

Why the USA is missing out: This song is everything you need to get your day going, to get out of a bad mood, to get pumped up for a workout…basically anything. The chorus is catchy, the beat is dance worthy, and you won’t stop hitting replay. I showed it to my friend she said she couldn’t wait to play it for the infant she babysits. See? Even babies love it.

7. Pompeii/Waiting All Night by Bastille & Rudimental (feat. Ella Eyre)

Why the USA is missing out: Yes, yes I know you’ve heard “Pompeii.” BUT you haven’t heard what happened they remixed it live at the Brit Awards. Magic.

8. Riptide by Vance Joy

Why the USA is missing out: The first time I heard this song I immediately felt like I was skipping through a field during the summer. Weird, I know. But really it’s chill, addictive, and will put you in your happy place.

9. Wild Heart by the Vamps

Why the USA is missing out: First off they are like a mini One Direction and you’ll just want to pinch their cheeks once you watch the video. But musically the chorus is so catchy that it will be stuck in your head all day.

10. Goodness Gracious by Ellie Goulding

Why the USA is missing out: While it will probably be her next hit in the states it can’t come soon enough. Classic Ellie delivers a fun and hip track with lyrics like “Goodness gracious I can’t seem to stop, Calling you up” everyone can relate.

Do You Hope These Songs Catch On In America?
