Question: Do exams ever end?
Answer: No. Because school.

To all my fellow intersession students, I feel your pain. Summer is not a time to focus on our classes and yet we find ourselves here, voluntarily signed up for school. What were we thinking? Those freaking academic credit pressures…

The first of our exams are coming up and what have we done? Well, nothing. The only difference is that now we have this condensed class and a whole lot of material for a midterm. It especially doesn’t help for online courses. Get ready for cramming, confusion and general unease. So here are my tips to help you through this awful, awful time.

1. Prioritize

We juggle a lot and we’re rather awesome at it. We have jobs, other classes, places to be and people to see. What’s important right now is that you decide which of these is most important and arrange your schedule accordingly. Don’t put in extra time at work if you have a midterm in the next few days, you know what I mean? Even if you aren’t studying in that time, the relaxation is beneficial.

2. Keep up! No excuses

This might be a little late, but keeping up with the work makes exam time a lot easier. I don’t just mean reading the chapters – I mean make those notes and study sheets. That way, once exam time rolls around, all you have to do is study your notes. No more flipping through obscene amounts of information in your textbook, trying to find that one fact that has been bothering you.

3. Go the eff to sleep. Shhhh, nope. Just do it.

I say this every time. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not plan for an all-nighter. Just go to sleep!

What’s your exam review strategy?
