It is now mid-December, and Christmas cheer is in full force. At this point, there is almost nowhere you can go without being bombarded by Christmas movies, carols, decorations, treats, etc. A lot of people have no trouble getting in to the holiday spirit, and are as happy as a clam baking cookies and decorating their Christmas trees. But the holiday spirit doesn’t come so easy for everyone, and while these late-bloomers may love Christmas more than anyone, there is so much going on in the weeks leading up to the big day that it can be hard to fully embrace the holiday season.
If you are one of those people who often gets labeled as a Grinch or is told to stop acting like a Scrooge, then this is the GIF guide for you. Here are some of the difficulties you may encounter on your journey towards full-on festivity, and some advice for overcoming those problems and reaching the Christmas lights at the end of the tunnel.
Everyone around you is so pumped for Christmas, and it kind of makes you want to vomit.
How do they have so much time to do Christmas things when you are basically buried under a mountain of homework?
Sure, finals can be stressful, but you need to give yourself a break every once in a while, so why not do a Christmas activity?
Some people just don’t have good luck when it comes to Christmas, like buying the wrong gift or burning 10 batches of cookies. If you’re one of these people, you’ll probably go back to studying now.
You’ll get away with avoiding Christmas a little longer, but as December 25th looms closer, the pestering is going to start up again:
At this point, you’re pretty much done with finals, and looking for any excuse to procrastinate on your last assignment, so you decide its finally time to go full out Santa’s elf.
You may still have your difficulties with certain activities,
But you don’t let you get it down anymore, because you’ve finally seen the light. It’s fricken’ Christmas!
If you are being a real Grinch with your nose buried in your textbooks, wake up and smell the snowflakes
Hang up some Christmas lights,
And just have a good time, because it’s Christmas, and it isn’t going to be again for a whole year, there’s no time to be a Grinch.
Although speaking of the Grinch, make sure you watch at least a dozen holiday specials. Those animated classics are always a spirit booster.
