Duke Student’s Work as Porn Star Stirs ‘Unhealthy Obsession’ (via USA Today)

To say that the Duke University’s campus has lost its mind over its recent freshman porn star scandal would be an understatement at this point. The witch hunt to to identify her has begun. After divulging her secret to an incoming fraternity brother, who quickly spread word around his house, she realized her second life would never be undercover again. She ended up coming forward because, as she put it, “if people are going to talk about you, you might as well control the conversation and use it to start a dialogue.” Interesting read, interesting girl.

Arizona Governor Vetoes Bill Widely Criticized as Anti-Gay (via Reuters)

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed a bill that has been derided by critics as a license to discriminate against gays in the name of religion, saying the measure could result in “unintended and negative consequences.” Essentially this measure would have allowed business owners to cite personal religious beliefs as legal groundd for refusing to serve same-sex couples or any prospective customers. A number of major business organizations and some fellow Republican politicians had urged the Governor to veto the bill.
