It’s that time of year again. If you’re not graduating and looking for your first full-time job, you’re on the tumultuous search for a summer internship or part time job. One of the most stressful parts of finding a job is the interview. Whether you’re a seasoned pro at the interview process, or have only ever been on a few interviews, you’ve probably experienced that awful interview that just totally failed. It probably went something like this:
You did it! You got the interview for your first choice job.
The day of the interview, you realize you don’t actually own any appropriate professional clothes.
You scrounge together whatever you can find, and think you look pretty great.
Before you leave, your best friend makes you realize that you overdid it on the cologne, perfume, and hair product.
You arrive at the office, and it is probably the most intimidating place you’ve ever been.
The interviewer asks the first question, and your response makes absolutely no sense.
The interviewer reacts something like this.
You start to lose confidence at an accelerating rate.
