White House Wants Transparency on College Sexual Assaults (via USA Today)
On Tuesday, Vice President Biden formally disclosed a report from the White House Task Force to protect students from sexual assault. For decades, the issue of sexual assault has been mishandled by colleges around the nation, resulting in a plethora of issues ranging from lack of confidentiality between victim and counselor to ignored or unresolved cases of abuse. In an attempt to revamp the system and provide better support for victims on university campuses, lawmakers are pushing for reforms which would require schools to investigate reports of sexual harassment within 60 days of a report as well as implement checklists for school administrations to evaluate their own policies.
