Do you have a lot of trouble getting out of bed in the morning? You hit snooze until you’ve definitely overslept for class and even then there is nothing getting you out of bed. There’s an app for that. Here are some alternative alarm apps that use other elements of sound, sleep cycles and movement to get you out of bed in the morning.

Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock is a great alarm because not only does it track your sleep and calculate your sleep quality, it allows you to wake up at the best time for you. If you have to be at work by 9 AM for example, and it takes you an hour to get ready and get there, you would set the alarm to wake you up in the time frame between 7:30 and 8:00 AM depending on where you are in your sleep cycle. You need that half hour span because it will make it much easier to wake up if your alarm goes off before or after the deepest part of your sleep cycle. Also, with its sleep analysis, you are able to see which nights of the week you sleep the best, the most, etc, and eventually you can start to see trends and patterns in your sleeping quality and figure out what makes you sleep better or worse.

I Can’t Wake Up! Alarm Clock

For the Android uses a smooth wake up with dimmed screen and music that increases in volume as well as awake tests and wake up tasks to get you and your brain awake and working.

Alarmy (Sleep If U Can)

For people who really, if their life depended on it, cannot drag themselves out of bed in the morning. When you set your Alarmy alarm you have to take a picture of somewhere in your house (most helpful would be far away from your bed). When the alarm goes off in the morning, you must get up out of bed, go to the place you took a picture, and take the same picture.

Walk Up Alarm Clock

Forces you out of bed by making you walk a set number of paces away from your bed and doesn’t shut off until you’ve walked that many paces. “You can’t trick it, and I’ve never gone back to sleep after doing my 50 paces.”  Apparently it uses a blood curdling scream as the alarm sound, so if that doesn’t get you out of bed, I’m not sure what will.

How difficult is it for you to get out of bed in the morning?
