The Best Summer Night Pastimes For People Under 21

As the great Lana Del Rey once said, “Hot summer nights, mid-July, when you and I were forever wild.” It seems like the older we get, the less we’re experiencing these wild summer nights.  When you’re spending your summer days at an internship or at work, sometimes you don’t have the willpower or energy to make the most out of a Friday or Saturday night in the summer.  With only a couple of more days left in July, summer is quickly dwindling down and before we know it school will be back in session.  It’s time to make the most out of summer nights and enjoy some old favorite summer night pastimes!

1. Concerts/Festivals:

Whether it’s a mainstream artist, a jazz concert, or a local band that you’re a fan of, nothing is better than feeling the cool breeze outside while listening to some of your favorite songs.

2. Midnight swim:

This could be in a pool or at the beach. Who says you can only throw pool parties during the day?

3. Late night carnival/fair:

Play some games, win prizes, go on rides with friends, get sick eating too many sweets — it’ll feel like the night may never end.

4. Watch the fireworks:

Yes, you can do this even when it’s not the Fourth of July.  Get with family or friends and just watch a nice firework show that’ll make you feel like a little kid again.

5. Make s’mores:

Roasting marshmallows around the fire, sharing old stories, and laughing at jokes with your best friends is not only relaxing, but also allows you to indulge in chocolate.

6.  See a sports game:

Cheer for your favorite national sports team or even at your little brothers little league game and you’re guaranteed to have fun and also most likely lose your voice from yelling so much.

7. Take a stroll:

Walking around, talking about life, and looking at the stars can sometimes be the best thing to do because of the beauty and the lack of effort.

8. Watch movies outdoors:

All you need is a projector, a sheet, and some of your favorite movies to enjoy outside with friends and family.

9. Throw an end of summer party:

The perfect way to enjoy your last summer night is to get all your friends together to eat, dance, and hang out before you all go your separate ways for the fall.
