So you’re home from college, you actually have some time to relax. No more studying, classes, crazy professors, long readings, or term papers. You made it through finals. Congrats! Now what most students don’t realize is how much time they have at home. For most students it can be anywhere from 2-4 weeks. So basically you have a lot of time to do those all things you’ve been wanting to do but haven’t had the time for!

Here’s our list of things to do over winter break:

1. Start (and finish) a new season or show on Netflix

Not that this is like a great way to spend your time, but c’mon it’s an accomplishment for sure and watching TV can be really relaxing. Plus you can catch up on all the shows you have been wanting to watch!

2. Sleep in, a lot

You finally don’t have to worry about setting an alarm or staying up late to study. Time to hibernate…

3. Volunteer!

Want to help out your community? Go volunteer! Food banks and shelters are always looking for extra help around the holidays, make your free time useful.

4. Decorate Christmas cookies (if you’re not on that spring break diet)

Actually, regardless, decorate cookies! It’s a fun way to spend your time into.

5. Go skiing or snowboarding

For most of the country, winter is the only time you can do these activities! Even if you have never skied or snowboarded, take a ski trip with some friends and try something new!

6. Read a book or magazine or something

You now have the time to finally read something other than Plato or financial statements!

7. Drink hot chocolate

Don’t forget to add marshmallows and a candy cane!

8. Do not wear pants or shower shoes

This is my favorite thing to do whenever I go home!

9. Organize something

Anything – your documents folder, Pinterest board, iTunes library, closet – you’ll feel a zillion times better and it’s a great way to start off the new year.

10. Look for a summer job or internship

Now, I said, “look”. You don’t actually have to get a job…

11. Reconnect with your high school friends

Or don’t, if they sucked.

12. Facetime your college friends

Most of them probably live far away… And after seeing all your old friends, you probably realized how much you miss your new ones.

13. Have a game night with your family,
or best friend’s family if they’re more tolerable!

My favorite is playing Monopoly with my best friend Sarah’s family! Wine is also always an acceptable accommodation.

14. Start a blog or diary or craft

Do something that expresses yourself!

How about you? What do you plan on doing over winter break?
