The Simpsons aired yet another Halloween episode on Sunday that has everyone still buzzing. This got us to thinking: What are our favorite Halloween episodes of all time? Although this list doesn’t include anything from Nickelodeon or Disney (stay tuned), we came up with our favorite Halloween themed episodes from our favorite funny TV shows. Watch these specialized episodes to laugh while getting in the Halloween spirit.

5. Modern Family – “Open House of Horrors”

It’s hard to say which Halloween episode of Modern Family is the best because they’re all equally hilarious. The “Open House of Horrors” episode in particular will undoubtedly have you on the floor laughing. This show is one of the funniest TV has ever seen, and the added holiday theme makes it so much better. Mitch and Cam host a Halloween party, Claire tries to prove to Phil that she can be scary, and pregnant Gloria yells at people who piss her off throughout the show (like when the 2 teenage boys without costumes egg her house). Watch this episode and “Halloween” from Season 1.

4. Freaks and Geeks – “Tricks and Treats”

It’s easy to say which Freaks and Geeks Halloween episode is our favorite, considering there was only one season and everything *insert unamused emoji here* (we’re not bitter or anything). This episode shows what Halloween in the 80’s was all about: geeks attempting to trick or treat one last time even if they could be considered as “too old”, and freaks (including Lindsay) pulling shenanigans like smashing pumpkins and egging a kid (who turned out to be her brother).  Also, there’s a hilarious scene where Bill is talking to himself in a mirror dressed in the costume pictured above.  Enjoy.

3. Boy Meets World – “And Then There Was Shawn”

So what happens when the cast of Boy Meets World all get detention? Naturally, they find a dead body and a bloody message on the chalkboard that reads, “NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE.” They start accusing different people, like the janitor and Mr. Feeney, of the murder. They couldn’t be more wrong.  Little do they know the murderer is closer than they think. Go down memory lane and have a few laughs as you watch this special episode.

2. How I Met Your Mother – “Slutty Pumpkin”

We’re gonna have to go with the orginal HIMYM Halloween episode from the first season. I mean, you can’t watch “The Slutty Pumpkin Returns” in season seven without first hearing the back story of the Slutty Pumpkin. Also Marshall and Lily are adorable in their Jack Sparrow and green parrot costumes.

1. The Office – “Employee Transfer”

Incorporating Halloween into our favorite comedy series is genius. There’s nothing quite like a Halloween episode of The Office. This one is great because Pam was the only one to dress up for Halloween at the corporate office and it couldn’t have been more of a nightmare. She attempted to be Charlie Chaplin, but her smeared mustache made her look like, you guessed it, Hitler. Meanwhile in Scranton Creed, Kevin, and Dwight all dressed as Heath Ledger’s version of The Joker. Watch this clip and then please go watch the whole episode.

What’s your favorite Halloween episode?
