Jimmy Fallon does it again on The Tonight Show when he pulls a winner from the suggestion box. John Kempsey, a Tonight Show fan, writes in about his equal love for Harry Potter and rap music. Fallon grants his wish and combines the two with a little help from Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter. Brilliance follows. (Thank you, John Kempsey, whoever you are.)

There is no way to describe Tariq Trotter’s Harry Potter rap other than pure genius. Looking fresh in a suit, sunglasses and flat cap, The Roots band member does not disappoint. A self-proclaimed Potter fan, Trotter gives a shout-out to Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore and Voldemort. And the rap gets so specific, even the real-deal Harry Potter fanatics can appreciate this one. Trotter mentions butterbeer, the Prison of Azkaban, quidditch, Diagon Alley, and The Hogwarts Express to name a few. Clearly, he knows his sh*t. It’s hard to pick a favorite line, but here’s one of them:

“When students at the school started getting petrified,

Harry and his squad knew the way to rectify,

Magic wand, golden child on the special side,

Play a quick game of quidditch as an exercise”

The rap is so good, it’s too hard to believe that Trotter made it up on the spot, but who really cares. Maybe he’s a half-blood. Regardless, this video has us muggles clicking replay over and over. Check it out for yourself!
