It is that spooky time of year where everything is basking in a soft orange glow, fog seems to be everywhere and things that don’t normally smell like pumpkin suddenly vaguely kind of smell like pumpkin. Ahhhh, fall.

One of our favorite parts about fall is all of the horror films we can watch. There is nothing better than a good old classic haunting, right? Right. But what if all those damsels in distress in your favorite horror movies were played by men? That would kind of change the vibe right? Well, BuzzFeed thought so, which led them to recreating some of the iconic scenes in horror films but with men instead. We’re talking Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Psycho…the good stuff. They aren’t playing around. The themes behind the scenes seem different when the protagonist is a man and the antagonist is a woman. Like for instance, the sexualization of the bathtub scene in Nightmare. Different vibes. It would be like the tree scene in Evil Dead. We felt the stalking in Scream felt less sinister when it was a female voice on the other end of the phone.

Do you think these scenes feel different?

You may not feel like the vibe is different than the original films, but we definitely noticed something. Maybe it feels different if you are a female watching as opposed to a male. Who knows! But we definitely want to hear your thoughts.
